Refund Policy

This Refund Policy describes when and how Bahujan Cinema (operated by FILM INDUSTRY CREATION) will refund payments made for our subscription services. This policy complies with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) circular on Harmonisation of Turn-Around Time (TAT) and customer compensation for failed transactions and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

1. General Refund Position

Bahujan Cinema is a digital streaming subscription service. Because access to digital content is granted immediately on successful payment and the content cannot be “returned”, subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the subscription period has started, except in the specific cases described below.

2. Failed Transactions (RBI TAT — mandatory auto-reversal)

If your payment is debited from your bank / card / UPI / wallet but your subscription is not activated, the transaction is classified as a “failed transaction”. In line with the RBI Harmonisation of TAT circular:

  • The failed amount will be auto-reversed to your source account by the acquiring bank within T+5 working days of the original transaction date.
  • If the auto-reversal does not happen within T+5 working days, you are entitled to compensation of ₹ 100 per day of delay, payable along with the principal, in accordance with the RBI circular.
  • You do not need to take any action for the reversal — it is automatic. If 5 working days have passed without reversal, please contact us immediately at info@bahujancinema.com with your transaction reference number and we will escalate with the payment gateway and acquiring bank.

3. Duplicate or Erroneous Charges

If you are charged more than once for the same subscription, or charged for a plan you did not select, please write to info@bahujancinema.com within 7 (seven) days of the transaction with:

  • your registered email and mobile number;
  • the transaction reference number / order ID;
  • the date and amount of the disputed charge;
  • a screenshot of the bank/UPI debit message.

We will investigate the claim within 7 working days. Genuine duplicate or erroneous charges will be refunded to the original payment instrument within 7–10 working days after approval.

4. Technical Failure on Our Side

If you can demonstrate that the Service was substantially unavailable due to a technical failure attributable solely to us and not to your internet connection, device, or third-party network, we may, at our discretion, issue a pro-rated refund or extend the subscription term as a goodwill gesture.

5. UPI AutoPay Mandate Debits

  • Recurring AutoPay debits are made only after you have explicitly authorised the mandate in your UPI app.
  • To stop future debits, revoke the mandate through your UPI app or by visiting the “Manage Mandates” section in the Bahujan Cinema app.
  • Once an AutoPay debit has been successfully processed and the subscription period for that cycle has begun, the amount is non-refundable except in the cases listed in Sections 2 and 3.

6. Refunds Not Permitted

Refunds will not be issued in the following situations:

  • change of mind, dissatisfaction with content choice, or non-usage of the Service after activation;
  • account suspension or termination due to violation of our Terms & Conditions (including content piracy, account sharing, or fraudulent activity);
  • partial-month or pro-rated cancellation by the user mid-cycle;
  • content unavailability due to licensing changes, regulatory action, or geo-restrictions;
  • internet connectivity, device compatibility, or third-party app store issues outside our control.

7. Mode of Refund

Approved refunds are credited to the original payment instrument only (the same card / UPI VPA / bank account from which the payment was made). We do not refund to third-party accounts, store credits, or wallets unless legally required.

9. How to Request a Refund

Email info@bahujancinema.com with the subject line “Refund Request – [Your Order ID]” and include all the details listed in Section 3. Our team will acknowledge within 48 hours and update you at each stage.

10. Grievance Redressal

If your refund issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer at the same email address. As required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, complaints are resolved within 30 (thirty) days of receipt.
